Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia Kicks Off 2019 Annual Meeting in Athens

The latest in connected vehicle and Smart Cities technology on display

ATHENS, GA (October 7, 2019) – The Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia (ITS Georgia) today welcomed more than 160 transportation professionals and guests from around the nation to Athens, GA for the 2019 ITS Georgia Annual Meeting and Expositions. The theme for 2019 is ITS: Automatic for the People. The meeting is being held through October 8, at the Classic Center.

“This is an exciting time to be involved in transportation technology and Georgia is at the forefront of innovation, deployment and results,” said Jenny Johnson, President of ITS Georgia. “Our theme is an homage to two Athens icons and reflects how ITS technology and solutions benefits all users of our transportation system. I also want to thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this annual meeting a success.”

Topics to be covered in the meeting include examples of local communities taking the lead in Smart Cities mobility projects, the latest in connected vehicle technology, preparing the nation’s infrastructure for better mobility and how transit benefits from intelligent transportation solutions.

The latest in intelligent transportation technology will be on display from more than two dozen technology and solutions companies. On display will be the latest in smart traffic signals, vehicle sensing, remote asset management, machine vision systems and drones to monitor traffic.
