IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for this position is a transportation professional who has the skills and abilities to effectively represent the agency to Federal, state and local officials and the general public. This candidate is someone with good communication, negotiation and partnering skills who desires to work in a challenging, complex, innovative environment. Experience in traffic operations management, safety design, implementation and grants management is a plus.
This is a GS-11/12 position, depending upon your education, experience and training, and is on the Technical Applications/Program Services Team. Our selected candidate will work with an experienced professional safety and operations engineer to administer our safety programs, technical operations assistance and discretionary grants. The employee works with the State DOT to provide guidance, develop policy and assist Local Public Agencies (LPA) in the management of federal-aid grants. This position works with State, local and other agencies to maintain eligibility for federal funding from a variety of safety and operational enhancement programs.
