Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia Announces 2025 Best of ITS Awards Winners

ATLANTA – The Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia (ITS Georgia) announced the winners of the 2025 Best of ITS Awards.

“Every year, ITS Georgia takes pride in recognizing the outstanding people, projects and organizations that make our state a leader in the development, deployment, and operation of intelligent transportation systems,” said Thomas J. Glueckert, President of ITS Georgia. “This year, we’re honored to be able to recognize the people and agencies who have contributed so much to our industry this past year. Congratulations to all our winners.”

The 2025 Best of ITS Award Winners are:

  • 2025 Innovation: Outside the Box Award – Presented To: City of Doraville – Grant Management Application
  • 2025 Innovation: Best Use of Existing ITS Technologies Award – Presented To: Georgia Department of Transportation – Fatalities Tracking System Application
  • 2025 ITS Small Project of Significance Award – Presented To: Gwinnett County Department of Transportation – Singleton Road Corridor Technology Improvement Project
  • 2025 ITS Large Project of Significance Award – Presented To: Georgia Department of Transportation and HNTB – Akers Mill Express Lane Extension Go-Live Project
  • 2025 Outstanding Member Agency Contribution Award – Presented To: City of Peachtree Corners, for its outstanding dedication to ITS Georgia through exemplary leadership, volunteer service, and commitment to ongoing education
  • 2025 President’s Award – Presented To: Kaitlyn Stewart of GDOT for exemplifying the attributes of a dedicated board member, for outstanding management of ITS Georgia’s monthly technical programs, and for unwavering support of fellow board members
  • 2025 Larry R. Dreihaup Award – Presented To: Betsy Williams of TransCore for a distinguished career marked by visionary leadership in shaping ITS strategies and specifications, pioneering adaptive traffic systems, advancing ATMS expansion, and leaving a lasting legacy of mentorship and support for young engineers in Georgia
  • 2025 Larry R. Dreihaup Award – Presented To: Kenn Fink of Kimley-Horn for a distinguished career in leadership and collaboration – developing and nurturing project teams that continue to service the traveling public through regional operations contracts, fostering partnerships with GDOT and local agencies to break down jurisdictional barriers, and advancing ITS solutions across the states
